Play, Sports & Leisure Provision

Newton Longville Parish Council is currently looking at ideas for extending and improving the play, sports and leisure facilities at Hammond Park and Longueville Hall. We have around £70,000 to spend which may seem a lot of money, but robust play and sports equipment is not cheap.

Hammond Park Play Area

When the play area was last improved addition fenced off space was included to allow for more equipment to be installed in the future. We intend spending some of the available funds on additional equipment.

Trim Trail, Fitness Equipment & Bike Tracks

There is a small mound to the rear of Longueville Hall. We are considering providing a trim trail with fitness equipment here as well as making use of the mound to provide a small bike track.

Improvements to Longueville Hall

In the future, we hope to obtain grant funding to extend the hall, including another space that will allow us to have two or more rooms booked out at the same time for different events. Even though we have three venues in the village, at times all are in use. For now we intend spending a small amount on getting detailed plans drawn up to use when there is the opportunity to apply for grant funding.

The Parish Council will be drawing up more detailed proposals over the next few months and will consult again before finalising these. We want your views and ideas now to help us draw up our proposals.If you have any suggestions on any of the above including any pieces of play equipment you think should be provided please give details, including pictures and if you have seen the equipment elsewhere, where it is.
